The 42st annual Tenandeho White Water Derby will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015. The earlier race date is because Easter is on the first Sunday of April.
The details of the race are included in the enclosed application form. You will also find the waiver and day-of-race membership form for USA Canoe and Kayak enclosed as well. The $10.00 day-of-race membership fee is included in your $15.00 race application fee. It is not a separate payment.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no registrations after 11:00 AM or at the start line at Coons Crossing. If you feel that you might not be able to be in Mechanicville to register before the 11:00 AM cut-off time, please pre register! That will guarantee you a place in the race.
Helmets are required to be worn from start to finish by all paddlers of covered canoes and all kayakers. Anyone not complying will be disqualified. We recommend helmets for all paddlers of open canoes as well. Many sports require helmet use, especially in competition. It is just good common sense.
The men’s short kayak class is for boats under 13 feet long. The men’s long kayak class will be for boats 13 feet long and over. The shorter class is intended for whitewater play boats, slalom style kayaks, and shorter recreational kayaks. The long class is for racing designs, wildwater boats, and longer recreational kayaks.
Come and bring your family and friends! The more the merrier! We look forward to seeing you on the water.
All participants are required to wear PFDs. All participants are encouraged to wear helmets, paddlers using decked boats (such as kayaks) are required to wear helmets.
